1. Who we are
Supernova Tattoo ("we", "us", "our") is a tattoo studio operated by Amit Parkhe, located at Second Floor, 20 Cross St, Reading RG1 1SN, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Questions about your data? Contact us by email at supernovatattoo24@gmail.com or by phone at +44 7435 385280.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry and run your consultation. Specifically:
- Contact details — name, email address, mobile number.
- Enquiry content — your tattoo idea, additional notes, and any reference images you choose to upload.
- Booking details — when you choose "In-Person" or "Phone" consultation, our booking partner Cal.com collects your scheduling information to manage the appointment.
- Technical data — IP address and browser user agent, captured automatically when you submit the enquiry form, used purely for spam prevention. For anonymous analytics, we derive an approximate country and city from your IP address (we never store your full IP in the analytics database).
We collect anonymous usage data (pages viewed, sections scrolled to, buttons clicked) using our own first-party analytics. This is stored securely and used only to improve the website. It does not include your name, email, or tattoo enquiry details unless you submit the enquiry form separately.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your tattoo idea.
- To prepare for your consultation (in-person, phone, or asynchronous via email).
- To keep a record of consent, in case you ever ask us to prove you opted in.
- To prevent abuse of our enquiry form (rate limiting).
- To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve sections that aren't working well (anonymous analytics).
4. Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following bases:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — you tick the privacy consent box when you submit the enquiry form.
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — when you book a consultation we need your details to deliver that service.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for spam prevention and basic operational logging.
5. Who we share it with
- Resend — we use Resend (resend.com) to deliver your enquiry from our website to our studio inbox. Resend acts as our processor and only stores your email transit data.
- Cal.com — when you book an in-person or phone consultation, your name, email, phone number, and tattoo idea are sent to Cal.com to schedule the appointment. Cal.com is the processor for that data; see their privacy policy at cal.com/privacy.
- Vercel — our website is hosted on Vercel, who process server logs (including IP addresses) on our behalf.
- Upstash — anonymous analytics counters (page views, section engagement) are stored in an encrypted Redis database operated by Upstash on our behalf. No personal enquiry data is sent there.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than responding to your enquiry.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries you sent — kept in our studio inbox for up to 24 months so we can find your conversation if you come back later.
- Booking records — held by Cal.com per their retention policy; we keep our own copy for up to 6 years (UK tax record requirement) where there's a financial element.
- Reference images — deleted from our inbox after your consultation is complete or 12 months has passed, whichever is sooner.
- Server logs — kept by Vercel for up to 30 days.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold on you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete your data (where there's no legal reason to keep it).
- Object to or restrict our processing.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at supernovatattoo24@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
8. Cookies
We store a random anonymous visitor ID in your browser's local storage so we can count unique visitors without knowing who you are. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
The Cal.com booking widget loads in an embedded frame and may set its own functional cookies when you interact with it; please refer to Cal.com's policy for details.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we make changes. For material changes we'll do our best to tell you the next time you contact us.
